Welcome to DYCD Online!
Beacons are school-based community centers serving children, youth, and adults. There are currently 80 Beacons located throughout New York City, operating in the afternoons and evenings, on weekends, during school holidays and vacation periods, and during the summer.
The Compass Program provides a mix of academic, recreational and cultural activities for young people (grades K-12) after school, during holidays and in the summer. Programs are free of charge and are located in every neighborhood across the City.
Teen Action Programs
Teen ACTION programs allow youth between the ages of 13 and 21 to design and implement a meaningful service project that meets a need in their community.
The Cornerstone Program provides engaging activities year-round for adults and young people. Programs are located at 25 New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) Community Centers throughout the five boroughs. DYCD is working with community-based organizations to provide high-quality programming.
Cornerstone youth programs are designed to help participants acquire the skills and attitudes they need to graduate from high school, succeed in their chosen career, and give back to the community.
